Causes of Backwardness in Education of Deprived Sections - There are a number of reasons of backwardness in education of deprived sections. Few of them are enumerated below -

1. Language Barrier - Mostly study materials are prepared and available in English, it causes difficulty in grasping the concept of subject matter for non-English speaking people. The reason behind such problem is that they generally communicate in regional language. Efforts should be made to provide availability of text books etc in regional languages also.

2. Caste Problem - Caste discrimination is a major problem in India which causes hindrance in spreading education among deprived sections. People discriminate with people of other caste which in turn causes hindrance at social/educational/financial levels as well.

3. Shortage of Good teachers - Shortage of efficient teacher causes backwardness in educating people of deprived section. A non-efficient teacher will not be able to make proper use to available resources, may not be able to solve students problems properly etc. thereby causing hindrance and confusion among students. A non-efficient teacher will not solve problem but will become one.

4. Rural Area - People living in rural area are mostly illiterate. They do not understand the benefits of education. So, governmental as well as non-governmental efforts should be made at larger level to connect older generation and newer generation of people living in rural areas which in turn will help them to understand the benefits they will attain on becoming literate. For example, Sarv Siksha Abhiyan is a government initiative established with the purpose of eradicating illiteracy.

5. Indifference of Government - Indifference of government toward education also plays a role in causing backwardness in the field of education. Lack of sufficient fund needed for educational purposes or non-lenient implementation of educational schemes required for educational empowerment etc. plays a crucial role in backwardness in education.

Faculty administration leads to non-implementation of various rules/regulations/schemes laid down by central/state governments for the betterment of children/adults.
