Uses of Intelligence Tests
(1) Selection : Intelligence tests are used for the purpose of making selection of suitable candidates in the following cases :
- Admission to a particular course of instruction.
- Awarding scholarships.
- Selecting candidates for participation in co-curricular activities.
- Choice of candidates for assigning some specific responsibilities.
(2) Classification : Intelligence tests help the teachers to classify the students as bright, dull and average. This makes it possible for the teacher to put them into homogeneous groups and bring efficiency in teaching-learning process.
(3) Potentialities of Students : Intelligence tests help in revealing the potentialities of students and predicting their success in different fields.
(4) Educational and Vocational Guidance : Intelligence tests help the counsellor in guiding students in the selection of various courses of instruction and occupation.
