Question- Describe the factors affecting mental health.

Answer-

Factors which affect Mental Health - Every creature in this world is different from a mental point of view. Some have more mental abilities, then they achieve more success in life. At the same time if his mental abilities are less then he would achieve less success. More or less mental abilities depend on the mental health of the person. If we study this seriously, then we can understand that, following factors affecting mental health :

(1) Physical Factor : Physical factors effect mental health. A healthy mind resides in the healthy body. Due to the occurrence of any disease, the physical capacity is greatly removed. They tend to be irritable, frustrated and sad by nature. Mental disorders also arise in people due to the non-functioning of the endocrine glands located inside the body.

(2) Heritable Factor : Specific mental formations that individuals inherit by inheritance causing mental illness. Some characteristics of blood that individuals inherit by inheritance. The stimulating conditions create mental disorder in the body. Apart from this, mental diseases are transmitted from one generation to another.

(3) Family Factor : The family has a great influence on the development of an individual. The one from the age of 5 to 6 years is greatly affected by the family. At a house where parents fight or there is a lack of peace and child can't find love. His needs are not met, so mental illness arises in him due to family reasons.

(4) School Factor : Such schools where teaching is not done by psychological methods and children are kept under strict disciplines and where various kinds of punishments are given there is mutual discord and tension among the teachers at that place, children's mental health deteriorates.

(5) Social Factor : Sometimes the opposing elements of the society oppose the individual actions and thoughts. Sometimes some selfish and tyrannical people cause heavy harm to innocent people. Human life becomes stressful due to the complexity of life. Human beings become a victim of stress due to the increase in needs due to this mental illness has taken birth.

(6) Unfortunate Circumstances of Life : Many times a person has to face disappointments and failures in life. Some do not get success in business and some do not get success in love. Some are suffering from economic crisis and some are not satisfied with their social status. It has a bad and harmful effect on the mental health of a person.

(7) Economic Factor : Growing up in constant poverty, many desires are not fulfilled, due to this, their mental health suffers and their mental balance also deteriorates. Having lot of money against them would make a person addicted to gambling or drinking. Due to this mental imbalance arises in them. Suddenly having wealth from poverty from wealthy to poor also creates imbalance. In this way mental illness arises.

(8) Emotional Factor : According to psychological discoveries, emotions are the most responsible for psychosis. Humans have many basic instincts which are related to some emotions. For example due to sexual impulse, anger, fear etc. mental imbalance arises.

(9) Cultural Factor : Cultural traditions in the society restrict the fulfillment of the desires of the individual. One often has to restrain his tendencies by putting pressure on himself. In this way, psychosis arises by cultural programs.

(10) Geographical Factor : There are some geographical factors by them people are unable to adjust themselves. For ex- Too much cold or summer.
