It has been found that in those schools, girls have to choose one of the aesthetic arts, sewing-embroidery, painting and cooking as an additional subject in class 11, while boys have to choose from basic computer, typing, painting. Home Science is compulsory for girls in some schools. Whereas boys can opt for physical education instead. This type of duplicity in the choice of subjects raises the question as to why the emphasis is on training girls in such subjects which determine their role in a gender-divided society. It would not be wrong to say here that this division of subjects is not just a matter of distribution of knowledge but it is also a matter of determining the future role.

Special care is also being taken in the curriculum and textbooks that the subjects developing the vision of gender equality should be included in it. If the subject material that develops gender equality in children is included in the textbook, then surely children will develop with a healthy mindset. This is because textbooks are the only resource accessible to every school going child and textbooks are the only resource that is available to every teacher during the teaching process. The teacher may not use any aids during the teaching process, but the textbook is used by every teacher.
