Kothari Commission (1964-1966)

The commission suggested that women’s education should be kept under the main program and all those problems should be eliminated which hinders the education of women.

National Policy on Education (1965)
Emphasis should be given on the education of girls not only from the point of view of social justice but also because it gives impetus to social change.

National Education Policy (1968)

Free and compulsory education should be provided for boys and girls up to the age of 14 years.
Boys and girls of all classes should be provided with equal reading facilities.

National Policy on Education (1986)

Laying special emphasis on women’s education, it was said that education should be used as a fundamental change in the status of women.
The policy of non-discrimination in the education of boys and girls should be implemented. Women’s participation should also be increased in existing and new technology.
