Service providers are voluntary organizations registered by the state government to protect the rights and interests of women. These organizations do preventive, protective and rehabilitative work. They are responsible for helping women victims of domestic violence and providing them legal, social, medical and financial assistance. These institutions can register the complaint in the prescribed application format and send it directly to the concerned magistrate and security officer for necessary action. If the victim so desires, these institutions can arrange for her medical aid and accommodation in shelters.

The state government makes a list of service providers and sends it to the security officer of the area so that they can work in coordination. The list of service providers of a particular area has to be published in the newspaper or made available on the website of the state government for information and necessary action.
